Eric Church's New Song 'Crazyland' Came To Him In A Dream

Eric Church is giving fans another glimpse at his forthcoming new album with the release of "Crazyland." The track, co-written by Church alongside Luke Laird and Michael Heeney, arrived on Friday (August 28).

In the new song, Church narrates in the role of the "mad hatter," who introduces a brokenhearted individual to a dive bar full of characters who each represent emotions and experiences. "That’s Sad in the corner with his heart on his sleeve / Talking to Regret who’s never gonna leave / Over there playing pool is Fool and Lost / and tending bar tonight that’s All My Fault," Church sings in the first verse.

Last month, while on The Bobby Bones Show, Church revealed that "Crazyland" actually came to him in a dream. When he woke up, he immediately wrote it all down.

"One of the last songs we recorded, this is weird and I feel like you’re getting inside information but, I actually dreamed the chorus of the song, and I woke up and I wrote it down, and then I ended up writing the rest of the song to the chorus," Church explained. "I guess when you get to a creative point, you get in the groove like that. I was crazy at the time, so, you know."

"Crazyland" is yet another song shared with fans by Church since the start of the year. He previously released "Stick That In Your Country Song," as the first single from his upcoming album.

Additionally, in February he debuted a song called "Jenny" during the Country Radio Seminar in Nashville, which was followed by his April video debut of "Through My Ray Bans." Church has also shared "Never Break Heart" and "Bad Mother Trucker" with fans.

Church's highly-anticipated new album will follow-up 2018's Desperate Man. Earlier this year, the country singer revealed that he wrote and recorded 28 songs in 28 days for his next project. Stay tuned for more details to come on Church's next album!
