Keith Urban Releases Upbeat New Song, 'Tumbleweed'

Keith Urban continues to share new music with fans from his upcoming album, The Speed Of Now Part 1, due out on September 18. On Friday (August 28), the country star released an upbeat, feel-good love song, "Tumbleweed."

The song, written by James McNair, Jaren Johnston and Neil Mason, finds Urban singing of a free-spirited girl who caught his eye. "Hey, Miss Tumbleweed / I believe two tumbleweeds is better than one / Everybody needs a buddy when they’re on the run," he sings in the chorus. "Hey, Miss Tumbleweed / Let’s ride the breeze, town to town / Just kickin’ up dust / Make a little trouble, might make a little love..."

Take a listen to Urban's new song, "Tumbleweed" below.

"Tumbleweed" is one of several songs Urban has already released from his upcoming album. Additional previously released tracks include "Change Your Mind," "God Whispered Your Name," "Polaroid," "Superman" and two versions of his 2019 single "We Were."

Earlier this month, Urban revealed the complete track listing along with the names of collaborators on the album. Breland and Nile Rodgers will join Urban on the very first track on the album called "Out The Cage," while Pink has a duet with the country star on "One Too Many." Fellow country singer, Eric Church, will also appear on the album for their "We Were" duet.

"When I collaborate, I’m always looking for that 'third thing,'" Urban said in a statement. "There’s what I do, there’s what my collaborator does, and then there’s this 'third thing' that I’m most curious about. That’s what interests me the most — when the sum of the parts becomes even more than what I envisioned. That’s what I love so much about it — finding common ground, shaping it and bringing it together."

The Speed of Now Part 1 is Urban's 11th studio album and follows up 2018's Graffiti U. The 16-track project is due out on September 18. See a full track list for the record here.
