September 8, 2020
The iHeartRadio Music Awards may have looked a little different this year, but fans got to hear acceptance speeches from the 2020 winners during an on-air and social media special over Labor Day Weekend.
This year's big winners included Billie Eilish who took home four awards including Female Artist of the Year, Post Malone who also won in several categories including Male Artist of the Year, Lizzo, Jonas Brothers, Taylor Swift, Tour of the Year honoree Elton John, and so many others.
And as always, fan-voting determined the winners in several new and established categories, like Best Fan Army — which was won by BTS' BTSArmy.
The 2020 iHeartRadio Music Awards were originally scheduled to take place on Sunday, March 29 at the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles and air on FOX. However, due to the pandemic, the show was cancelled given the limitations on events. The annual awards show is set to to return to FOX in 2021.
Take a look at some of the best speeches from this year's iHeartRadio Music Awards winners below.
Lizzo won Song of the Year for her hit "Truth Hurts," as well as Best New Pop Artist, and like the true treasure she is, during her acceptance speech for the latter, she set her award down in front of an amazing booty-shaped vase of flowers, and teased "new music to come." She said, "I need to get in the studio right now, 'cause y'all are making me feel like I need to put some new music out right now. So, thank you so much. Man, y'all are making my dreams come true. You put a smile on my face, and new music to come, so get ready!"
The Chainsmokers took home the award for Dance Album of the Year for their World War Joy project, and had their dogs, Mooshu and Oliver, accept the award for them. This is the true definition of man's best friend.

Taylor Swift had that red lip, classic, thing that you like ... in the video for her acceptance speech for winning Pop Album of the Year award for Lover. And in addition to thanking everyone for their support on Lover, she also thanked everyone for their support on her newest album Folklore. She explained, "This album, Folklore, has been the way that I felt like I could still connect with people in this very disconnected time."
Talk about multi-tasking! Luke Combs accepted his award for Country Song of the Year for "Beautiful Crazy" on his HONEYMOON! Combs explained, "Can't believe it, thanks to my beautiful wife for being the inspiration behind the song. We're actually on our honeymoon right now, and she's dancing around right here. That's her laughing in the background. But, seriously, thank you guys so much for the award, can't believe it." He then got a high five from his wife Nicole. That is love, ladies and gentlemen.
DaBaby won two iHeartRadio Music Awards, but in his speech for Hip-Hop Song of the Year for "Suge," he explained how the song changed his life. The rapper said, "The award means a lot to me, that was a real big song, that song changed my life. I appreciate the love."
Sir Elton John is an absolute legend and his "Farewell Yellow Brick Road Tour" won him the iHeartRadio Music Award for Tour of the Year. From his home, Elton accepted the award, and explained that although the trek has been put on hold due to the COVID-19 pandemic, he hopes to finish the tour soon. He explained, "As you know, things have come to a halt because of COVID-19, but once this has passed, we'll be out there and we will finish the tour." He added, "Thank you to everyone who came in the first place and those who are coming to see us again," and let out a big "YES!" at the end.
Get ready for your heart to grow three sizes, because H.E.R. gave the most heartwarming acceptance speech for R&B Artist of the Year. She said, "I can't believe I'm receiving the R&B Artist of the Year, like, it's crazy, we've come such a long way since the iHeart Festival; [it] was one of my favorite performances, hands down. The Living Room Concert Series, so much fun. I'm so thankful that during this time, I was able to still perform and do what I love." The singer added, "I really don't have the words, I'm just so grateful that music is this powerful and that I've been able to touch a few people."
Find you a band who loves their fans like BTS loves the BTSArmy and vice versa. The group of fans won for Best Fan Army and the guys said in their acceptance speech, "This award is for you. You've been with us through thick and thin, and we really cannot put into words how much this means to us."

Taking home the award for Best Duo/Group are the Jonas Brothers, and the band put together a (socially distanced) acceptance speech from each of their respective homes. In their speech, Joe explained that, "When we decided to get back together in the beginning of 2019, it was a bit scary for us. But, we knew we couldn't do it without you and your support." Kevin added, "Here's to the next one. Stay safe, everybody."
Dan + Shay
The fans voted, and winning Best Lyrics this year are Dan + Shay and Justin Bieber for their hit collaboration "10,000 Hours." This was Dan + Shay's very first iHeartRadio Music Award win and as Dan explained, "This means the world to us, thank you all so much for voting. It means even more knowing that this was a fan voted award." The guys ended their speech by cheers-ing their awards, but didn't want to break them (so they air-cheersed instead).
Congratulations to all the 2020 iHeartRadio Music Awards winners!
