A landscaping truck clipped a small airplane after the aircraft made an emergency landing on Alligator Alley Wednesday morning, according to Local 10.com.

The plane, a single-engine Mooney M20R, landed safely at 9:50 a.m., according to Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) spokeswoman Arlene Salac. The City of Weston added that the plane landed at the 40-mile marker.

After the plane landed on the right emergency shoulder, a landscaping truck clipped the wing of the plane, according to officials. The aircraft spun out into a grassy area on the side of the highway, authorities added.

“As [the pilot] had landed the airplane, a truck was passing by on the right shoulder and struck the left wing, causing the plane to spin around in a clockwise position and (it) ended up facing traffic,” Florida Highway Patrol Lt. Yanko Reyes said.

Local10.com reported that Broward Sheriff Fire Rescue responded to the scene. The right southbound lane was shut down, they added.

Facebook user Whatisfla posted a video of the scene before authorities arrived.

A 45-year-old man was identified as the pilot, Lt. Reyes said. The pilot said a mechanical issue affected the plane's engine.

A 60-year-old woman was also on the plane.

No one was hurt in the incident, including the driver of the landscaping truck, authorities said.

Local10.com said the plane was on its way to Fort Lauderdale Executive Airport when it was forced to land. The incident is also under investigation by FAA.
