Kelly Clarkson’s new album may be her most “therapeutic” project yet.

The superstar spoke candidly about her next studio album following the American Idol alum’s breakup from her estranged husband Brandon Blackstock, an experience Clarkson will seemingly address on her follow-up to 2017’s Meaning of Life. She appeared to touch on the emotional split during an interview appearance on Sunday Today With Willie Geist, airing Sunday (September 13).

“This next record, this will probably be the most personal one I’ve ever released,” the 38-year-old said, according to Us Weekly. “The whole record is basically every emotion you experience from the beginning of a relationship to the end of what it is now or where it is now. It’s been very therapeutic for me. It’s very honest."

After seven years of marriage, the “Broken & Beautiful” singer filed for divorce from Blackstock in June. The estranged couple, who share two children — 6-year-old daughter River, and 4-year-old son Remington — had reportedly been quarreling while quarantining at their Montana home before Clarkson moved to end her marriage.

Per a source, the pair was “heartbroken” over the divorce, but have proceeded to put their children first. “Their focus is on co-parenting and moving forward, as this is the last place they ever thought they would be,” the insider added. “They both understand divorce is never easy for children, but Kelly and Brandon are great parents. It'll just take time."

While both parties have remained mum about their divorce, Clarkson recently addressed the breakup in a clap back tweet to a fan who insinuated her marriage “didn’t work” because of her busy work schedule.

“Wow. Shaming a woman who has a great work ethic, is a great mom, and who steps up and fills in when a friends asks for a favor because that’s actually what ‘good old country girls’ do,” she hit back, referring to her filling in for Simon Cowell on America’s Got Talent. “This can’t be who you are deep down. I have more faith in your heart. Aim higher please ❤️”
