Shawn Mendes just gave fans a more intimate look at his latest project.

By now you’ve probably watched the Canadian singer-songwriter's music video for his new song “Wonder,” and chances are you're still thinking about the beauty of it all. And if you’re anything like us, you’re equally curious to know how Mendes pulled off those incredible stunts and visuals to make such a cinematic masterpiece.

Well, the 22-year-old crooner answered our prayers this week by unveiling the first of several behind-the-scenes clips chronicling the project, from start to finish.

Mendes kicked off a new BTS series on Wednesday (October 7) with never-before-seen footage of him filming the video's opening sequence. In the clip, the “Señorita” star can be seen getting his hair and makeup prepared before demonstrating how he and his crew used green sceens, props, and other mechanics for that mind-blowing train surfing scene.

Check it out below.

“Wonder” is the first song and music video to release from Mendes’ upcoming album of the same name, due out on December 4. The LP comes two years after the musician dropped his self-titled third studio project in May 2018.

Upon announcing Wonder, Mendes described his fourth full-length will be “as real and as honest as [he’s] ever been.”

"It really feels like a piece of me has been written down on paper and recorded into song,” he shared in a statement. “I tried to be as real and as honest as I’ve ever been. It’s a world and a journey and a dream and an album I’ve been wanting to make for a really long time. I absolutely love it.”
