Benny The Butcher and Hit-Boy enlisted Lil Wayne and Big Sean for their latest single, “Timeless.”
The track, which is set to appear on Benny's upcoming album Burden Of Proof — produced by Hit-Boy — finds the trio rapping about rising together.
The Griselda rapper kicks things off, rapping, “I do this for suffering children and checks from government buildings/ A dope boy who made a cheque from other than dealing.” He later adds, “What’s a king to a god, ni**a? / I’ma live forever,” before Weezy hops on to deliver a few bars about his success.
Sean Don concludes the track by rapping about his come up, spitting, "Signed a slave deal, now a n***a up owning my masters/ Watch me turn G.O.O.D. into great/ There's first steps to everything, even taking leaps of faith."
Ahead of the track's release, Hit-Boy took to Instagram to deliver an encouraging message as he revealed that the beat for “Timeless” was originally made for JAY-Z and Kanye West‘s Watch the Throne nearly ten years ago.
"Aight so I wanna let all my producer Homies know you should never give up on any of your ideas. The beat for This new @getbenny single ft @liltunechi and @bigsean dropping tomorrow was made in 2011 at the Mercer hotel for jay z and Kanye west #watchthethrone it wasn’t picked," he wrote. "I was actually hot I made a beat this good and they picked something like ni**as in Paris which was one of my more simple beats. That was a blessing in disguise. I needed NIP at the time to open more doors. 9 years later it’s Benny single #timeless Sean snapped on that “I know labels thats up B’s that owe me M’s” 🔥🔥🔥📞."
Burden Of Proof is scheduled to drop on October 16. The LP will feature appearances from Rick Ross, Freddie Gibbs, Queen Naija, Dom Kennedy, and more.
