Tory Lanez is still proclaiming his innocence.

Hours after TMZ reported that the 28-year-old rapper had been charged in connection with the July shooting involving Megan Thee Stallion, Tory took to social media to speak out about the charges.

“[Time] will [tell],” he tweeted on Friday (October 9) using emojis. “And the truth will come to the light … I have all faith in God to show that … love to all my fans and people that have stayed true to me & know my heart.” Tory added, "a charge is not a conviction . If you have supported me or meg thru this , I genuinely appreciate u"

On Thursday (October 8), TMZ reported that the Los Angeles County D.A.'s Office charged the Canadian rapper with one count of assault with a semiautomatic firearm, and one count of carrying a loaded, unregistered firearm in a vehicle. The D.A. also claimed that Tory inflicted great bodily injury.

If convicted, he faces up to 22 years and 8 months in prison.

The outlet also reported that prosecutors are still "mulling over a charge of felony assault with a firearm" since they are now "explicitly pointing the finger at Tory" as the man who shot Megan in the foot.
