Nearing Election Day, Lizzo returned to her home state to campaign for Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden and his running mate Kamala Harris.

The 32-year-old award-winning artist from Detroit campaigned in her hometown and in Harper Woods over the weekend, thanking volunteers and encouraging people to vote early, according to CBS Detroit.

In Harper Woods, Lizzo and Lt. Gov. Garlin Gilchrist II spoke about issues that young Black voters face, the Detroit News reported.

Secretary of State Jocelyn Benson recently encouraged the millions of Michigan voters who requested absentee ballots to drop them off in person rather than mailing them.

That way, voters ensure ballots are received on time. Any ballots received after 8 p.m. on November 3 can’t be counted.

Lizzo's appearances for the Biden-Harris campaign come days before President Donald Trump and Vice President Mike Pence are slated to hold rallies in Lansing and Flint, respectively.

MLive posted a brief video of Lizzo appearing in Michigan on Friday (October 23).

"Michigan is going to be so crucial, and how Michigan votes is going to be so crucial between trying to make America great again or finally bringing America together," Lizzo said to the dozens of canvassing volunteers at one of her stops, a Focus: HOPE event. “I don't want to go back to the way it was…Joe Biden and Kamala Harris will help us finally bring America together."
