Hayley Williams is affirming Paramore’s position against homophobia.

The frontwoman of the punk rock band seemingly took a shot at her former bandmates in a powerful pro-LGBTQ+ message on Twitter on Wednesday (October 28).

“There’s a reason there are only 3 people left in @paramore," Williams tweeted. “Surprise, haters, it ain’t cause of me. paramore do not condone religiously/politically dogmatic beliefs which leave our LGBTQ+ friends, fans, & family feeling abandoned and hopeless."

“And ya know, if that doesn’t jive with you, well, feel free to go to where all past members of paramore have gone which is literally anywhere else but paramore,” she added, before concluding, “To paramore’s LGBTQ+ family (and @ColormeBrian i am talkin straight to you) you are full of love and you are loved.”

Of course, the “Misery Business” musician didn’t specify exactly which ex-bandmate(s) she was referring to in her message. However, many fans believe Williams’ tweet was aimed at former guitarist Josh Farro — who infamously disbanded from the group with brother Zac Farro in 2011.

Josh became a trending topic last night after a screenshot of an alleged comment he made on Facebook showed him expressing homophobic sentiments. In the comment, Josh seemingly condemns homosexuality as “a perversion" and likens the sexual orientation to pedophilia.

Paramore consists of Williams, drummer Zac, and guitarist Taylor York. The group's longtime bass guitarist Jeremy Davis led a contentious legal battle with the band in his exit in 2015.

As yet, neither Farro nor the remaining Paramore members have responded to Williams’ message.
