Luke Combs' 'What You See Is What You Get' Sets New Streaming Record

Luke Combs' What You See Is What You Get album is back on top.

Following its deluxe reissue on October 23, the album has returned to No. 1 on the Billboard 200 for a second nonconsecutive week, setting a new streaming record for a country album.

Billboard reported on Sunday (November 1), that the album jumped from No. 21 to No. 1, thanks to 109,000 equivalent album units in the United States this past week. Its streaming total of 102.26 million weekly streams broke the album's own record for the largest streaming week for a country album ever.

While Combs' did earn No. 1 album of the week, his new song "Forever After All" didn't quite hit the top of this week's chart. The country star acknowledges the news in a social media video shared on Friday evening (October 30).

"I wanted y’all to hear it from me; we did not get the number one," Combs said in the clip. "We came in second place, but that’s OK. I’m in great spirits – we tried real, real hard. I just wanted to thank you guys for everything that you did this week to try to make that happen for us. I’m still beyond proud, and beyond excited of the things that we accomplished this week. I just wanted to say thanks. You guys continue to amaze me and make me real proud to do what I do and make me want to strive to be better, and write better songs, and do better things for y’all. I just really appreciate it."

"I think everybody always wishes they could be number one, but that’s just the way life is sometimes, and that’s OK," he continued. "I just want y’all to know that I love you. Everybody on my team appreciates you guys. The band, the crew, management team – everybody that works for me – really, really appreciates everything you guys do for us, and especially everything that you did for us this week. We did get the number one album in the world this week, which is a pretty incredible feat, we just didn’t get the number one song. And that’s alright. Thank you guys so much for everything you did. It was real fun. We’re going to do it again soon, I promise. Thank y’all."

Earlier last week, Combs posted another video calling attention to the possibility that "Forever After All" could debut atop the Hot 100 and Hot Country Songs charts. Had it ended up at No. 1, it would have been the first song to simultaneously debut atop both charts.

"A chance at history...," he captioned the video. "WE have a chance to make history. Never has a song debuted at No. 1 on The Hot 100 & Hot Country Songs Chart. To further help make this happen for 'Forever After All,' purchase the song on iTunes or Amazon for $1.29. Thank y’all for everything you do. Love you guys."

"Forever After All" is one of the six new songs included on Combs' What You See Is What You Get deluxe edition album. Additionally the project includes "Six Feet Apart," " Without You," "Cold As You," "The Other Guy," "and "My Kinda Folk."
