As the polls closed across the country, the race between President Donald Trump and his Democratic challenger Joe Biden was remains too close to call. As of 3 a.m. ET on Wednesday (November 4) morning, Fox News projected that Biden would win 238 electoral votes, while President Trump was projected to take home 213. Neither candidate secured the 270 electoral votes necessary to be declared the winner.

Nevada, Wisconsin, Michigan, Pennsylvania, North Carolina, and Georgia were still too close to call. They have a combined 87 electoral votes. Election officials in several counties in Pennsylvania, North Carolina, and Georgia said they will stop providing updates for the night and said they will provide the updated results later in the day on Wednesday.

Officials in Philadelphia County said they expect to provide the next update on mail-in ballots at 9 a.m. ET. With 49% of the votes counted, Biden was beating Trump 73.5% to 25.7% in the county.

Both candidates addressed their supporters earlier in the night. Biden spoke first, saying that he was confident that he was going to win.

"I'm here to tell you tonight we're on track to win this election," Biden said.

President Trump addressed his supporters from the East Room of the White House and declared that "we did win this election." He suggested that he was winning in key battleground states and suggested that the election was being stolen from him.

"This is a fraud on the American public, this is an embarrassment to our country," Trump said.

The Republicans were projected to keep their majority in the Senate while the Democrats were projected to maintain their majority in the House.
