After finding two suspects and 11 pallets of the $1 million worth of stolen medical gloves in a Medley warehouse on Monday (November 2), authorities found themselves at another warehouse in Medley last night (November 4).
There, they recovered the remainder of the stolen haul of personal protective equipment intercepted from a Coral Springs Medgluv office on Sunday, October 25.
The shipment contained about 6 million medical-grade gloves meant for first responders in Florida hospitals and was estimated to be valued at $1 million.
Because the gloves were federally registered, both local police and federal agents were investigating.
Inside the Medley warehouse were massive towers of black plastic the thieves used to hide the pallets of stolen gloves.
"They knew what they were doing," Medley Police Officer Deglys Chavarria told Local 10 News. "they not only took the load but they placed it in their own pallets and packaging and wrapped it in black to conceal that they were the gloves."
The Vice President of Sales and Marketing at Medgluv, Richard Grimes, was delighted that authorities finally found the missing equipment.
"I don't think people understand how important it is for our first responders, nursing staff in ICU, ER doctors," Grimes said. "This is what protects their lives."
