The Mile High Tree will be returning to downtown Denver for this holiday season. Its new home will be at the 16th Street Mall.
Installation of the seven-story tall tree has already begun at the 16th Street Mall at Welton Street. The tree is scheduled to be set up by Friday, November 13.
Like last year, the Mile High Tree will feature a dynamic light show that's choreographed to multi-cultural holiday tunes.
The programmed light show lasts around five minutes and runs every 15 minutes. The program uses pixel mapping technology through 60,000 LED lights, according to 9News.
According to Visit Denver, the 110-foot pixel LED technology tree is the tallest in the country.
The immersive art installation will be lit up every night starting Friday, November 20 through Saturday, January 2.
People can view the program from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. most Thursdays, Fridays, Saturday, and some Sundays.
The program is free and open to the public, but visitors can still enjoy the trees programmed lights from a distance after hours on both Welton Street and 16th Street Mall.
This year, the program has been adjusted to allow for a socially-distanced experience that comply with the COVID-19 safety standards and Denver's "Home By 10" order.
