Denver is hosting its first ever Fall Restaurant Week and it all kicks off today, Friday, November 13.
Over 180 restaurants will be participating in the event that is set to run until Sunday, November 22.
The city's Restaurant Week typically begins in February, but organizers realized this would be a great way to support local eateries that are struggling amidst the pandemic.
As Denver heads into colder weeks, the organizers worried for the fate of local restaurants that have been able to keep business afloat with expanded patio seating.
"I can't remember a time when the restaurants are struggling as much as they are now. They've been doing their best," Justin Bresler, Vice President of Marketing and Business Development at VISIT Denver, told CBS4. "... We really felt like this was going to be the slowest time they've had since really the beginning of the pandemic. What better way to inject a nice bit of business to our partners than running a whole new Denver Restaurant Week."
According to CSB4, health and safety guidelines are a top priority for restaurants as they prepare for the special 10-day Restaurant Week.
Most places are running on 25% capacity and offering take out options.
One manager suggested calling restaurants for a reservation since managing reservations at 25% capacity might be tricky.
Despite new health guidelines, Fall Restaurant Week will operate the same as previous Restaurant Weeks. Each restaurants have created a special menu featuring multi-course meals at the affordable prices of $25, $35, and $45.
