Earlier this month, five juvenile detainees escaped from the Wilder Youth Development Center in Somerville. On Monday (November 16), two of the five teens have been apprehended. Because of their age, the names of the escapees have not been released.

The five teens escaped from Wilder, which is operated by the Tennessee Department of Children's Services, on the morning of November 7 and have been on the run ever since.

"Our investigators are actively working (and) doing an investigation, trying to determine what happened and also trying to get these individuals back into custody," Ray Garcia, Chief Deputy of the Fayette County Sheriff's Office, said at the time after their escape.

Two of the five were apprehended in Memphis as part of a cooperative effort between the Fayette County Sheriff's Office and area fugitive task force members, WREG reports. On Monday, investigators said they would seek charges against those who helped the teens after their escape.

Though their identities have not been made public, police said the five had records of serious crimes including carjacking, aggravated robbery, and second degree murder.

Police encourage anyone with information about the three remaining escapees to contact the Fayette County Sheriff's Office at 901-465-3456.
