Google Search snuck in an ode to the late Alex Trebek, who recently passed away from Stage IV pancreatic cancer.
If you’re a Jeopardy! fan, you know that the beloved TV host used to see contestants share their answers in the form of a question. Twitter user @jpp123 noticed that the tech big-wig honored his legacy on the long-running show with the search results of his name on the platform. Head over to Google, search Alex Trebek and you'll notice that the platform asks, "Who is Alex Trebek," rephrasing his name into a question at the top of the results page like the game show format.
As you know, Trebek died in his sleep on Sunday due to complications from his cancer battle. He was 80. He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Jean, as well as their two children, Emily, 27, and Matthew, 30.
Due to his illness, the star filmed a batch of episodes of the game show competition ahead of time and his final installment will air on Christmas Day, according to JustJared. While Jeopardy! typically films five episodes per day, that schedule was always dependent on Trek's health. His final day in the studio took place on October 29, just 10 days before his death. Meanwhile, PEOPLE reported that new episodes of the ABC show will air leading up to the holiday broadcast. However, Sony Pictures Television does not have plans for Jeopardy! after the Christmas Day episode.
Trebek's final days seemed just as he wanted. In an interview with Entertainment Tonight, Jeopardy! executive producer Mike Richards shared details about his final moments with his family. "He had a nice final day. He was out on his swing that he loved with his wife and surrounded by family," Richards said of Trebek. "It was a very peaceful day, there were laughs, and then he went to sleep."
