A couple was injured after their car struck a tree, ripped in half and fell 100 feet down a ravine in Washington, according to KOMO.
Pierce County deputies said they responded to a call Sunday afternoon (November 22) in the 6400 block of Canyon Road East. Authorities found the front half of a silver Honda Civic along the side of the roadway. The other half was 100 feet down a wooded ravine.
"Miraculously, the 21 year old male driver and the 18 year old female passenger were able to crawl out of the wreckage and up the roadway with assistance," authorities wrote in a Facebook post. They both suffered non-life-threatening injuries.

Deputies said the driver was traveling "at a high speed" but lost control of the vehicle. As a result, they crashed into a tree. Authorities learned the couple also had a cat in the car, and witnesses said they saw the pet run away from the scene. No other passengers were in the vehicle, according to the sheriff's department.
"Unfortunately we were not able to locate the cat, but we are incredibly thankful that the driver and passenger were able to escape without significantly more serious injuries," deputies said.
