An elderly woman was arrested after reportedly firing shots at a suspected drunk driver crashed in her backyard.

Nancy Blough, 74, of Warrenton, Virginia, was charged with reckless discharge of a firearm and unlawful discharge of a firearm into an occupied vehicle, according to a Warrenton Police Department press release.

Blough contacted police at approximately 11:24 p.m and the Warrenton Police Department reported to the 100 block of Brittany Lane, according to the release.

Blough told officers she was woken up by a vehicle crashing into things in her backyard, including her own vehicle. Police said Blough fired several shots at the vehicle, striking it as it attempted to leave the area.

The driver suspected of crashing into Blough's backyard was found nearby and identified as Kaitlyn Yontz, 29, who was charged with public intoxication, according to WJLA.

NBC Washington reports Blough was alone in her vehicle when she attempted to back her car through the driveway and into the backyard before striking Blough's vehicle, knocking down a retaining wall and tearing up grass.

Neither woman was reported to be injured during the incident.

Blough was reportedly being held in jail on a $5,000 secured bond, WJLA reports. Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to contact Detective Michael Gemmell with the Warrenton Police Department at (540)-347-1107.
