See How Safe Miami Is On The 2020 'Safest Cities' List

Safety has been a recurring concern this year for Americans. Not only has the coronavirus pandemic changed how we conduct our lives, but issues like natural disasters, crime, health care availability and other concerns have been at the forefront of people's minds.

While danger isn't completely avoidable, one website wanted to see where Americans felt the most secure across the nation.WalletHub, a personal finance website, looked at more than 180 U.S. cities across "42 key indicators of safety."

How did Miami fare on this list? According to the website, they ranked the Magic City overall at No. 153.

Plenty of other cities in the Sunshine State also made it on the list. You can see their rankings below:

  • Tampa (No. 82)
  • Tallahassee (No. 85)
  • Pembroke Pines (No. 93)
  • Jacksonville (No. 120)
  • Port St. Lucie (No. 132)
  • Hialeah (No. 136)
  • Orlando (No. 159)
  • St. Petersburg (No. 170)
  • Fort Lauderdale (No. 182)


"Our data set ranges from COVID-19 cases in the past seven days per 100,000 residents and assaults per capita to the unemployment rate and road quality," Adam McCann wrote.
