With the rise in coronavirus cases across the state, many holiday events are being canceled or altered.
The Dallas Holiday Parade has been canceled for in-person attendance this year, reports WFAA.
Instead, the event is being "reimagined" as a live event for a television special, according to event organizers.
Executive producer of the Dallas holiday parade, Jeffrey Giles, says that event sponsors TOYOTA North America, AT&T, and its founding sponsor Adolphus Hotel will bring the event to to residents through a special TV broadcast by merging technology and culture on Christmas Day.
Michelle Brockwell, AT&T assistant vice president, told WFAA, "As a sponsor of the Dallas holiday parade, we are excited to be at the forefront of offering unique experiences to the community and residents of Dallas. We have transformed our downtown campus to a world-class headquarters with cutting edge technology."
Sam Tucker, Adolphus director of sales and marketing, stated, "While we cannot all be together in person, we are excited to continue this holiday tradition while welcoming guests into our bright and beautiful Adolphus holiday spirit."
Giles suggests checking local listings for the times and stations for the special holiday event.
