The demand for plastic surgery in Las Vegas has surprisingly gone up in the midst of the ongoing global pandemic.

Dr. George Alexander said he never thought that the demand would increase. "No, I did not think that we would have this much of a demand, I thought it would be quieter. Truthfully," he said.

The plastic surgeon told KSNV, "Facial, body contouring, breast augmentation, mommy makeover, tummy tuck - we’ve seen an increase all across the board,” he said. “The demand, no question, is much higher than it was last year."

The doctor says there could be a number of reasons for the demand.

He said, "There’s time off – that’s one. Two is Zoom meetings. Three is mask wearing. Four is family members’ availability to help out. Five is a privacy aspect. Six is the travel budget which has been shifted to themselves."

Dr. Alexander isn't the only surgeon in town seeing the surge.

Dr. Jeffrey Roth said, "Las Vegas is always one of the top five cosmetic surgery, aesthetic surgery destinations. Here in Las Vegas, it’s always been a big plastic surgery town. We continue to see that even during the pandemic."
