More than $750,000 worth of narcotics were seized on Friday (December 4) afternoon in Fresno County, according to the California Highway Patrol (CHP).

An officer and CHP K9 dog uncovered the narcotics when they pulled over a vehicle for speeding at 2:27 P.M., according to Tri-City Herald.

The car was a maroon 2012 Chrysler 200 heading north on I-5 north of Panoche Road.

The officer said several factors led him to believe the passengers were engaged in criminal activity.

The CHP K9 dog did an exterior search of the car and gave a positive alert to the odor of narcotics, according to investigators.

During the subsequent search, the CHP discovered a hidden compartment that was built into the rear seats.

Inside were five large bags of suspected counterfeit Oxycodone pills.

The bags weighed 11 pounds each and are believed to contain fentanyl, according to the CHP.

The suspects reportedly added ground coffee into each of the bags in an attempt to mask the odor.

The CHP estimated that the pills have a street value of over $750,000.

The driver and passenger have been identified as 21-year-old Destin Delgado and 18-year-old Jonathan Gordian Torres of Pasco, Washington.

The two were arrested on suspicion of possession for sale and transportation of a controlled substance.
