Why Don’t We Reveal the ’Sucky’ Name They Almost Chose for Second Album

Why Don’t We’s second studio album The Good Times and The Bad Ones drops January 15, 2021, but it almost wasn’t called that. Members Daniel, Corbyn and Jonah joined Ryan Seacrest on-air on Wednesday, December 9, and shared what they almost named the album, why it's their best work yet and how taking a break from social media was exactly what they needed.
“[We took] about a month being off of our phones,” the boys, while the rest of the gang was busy signing albums, shared. “It was about the best thing we could have done, especially for the album and just writing. I think it gave us just a chance to think our own thoughts.”
“I guess the best way I can put it is it’s super real,” Jonah added of their sophomore release. “It’s really coming from personal experience. We wrote and produce this whole album just ourselves and that’s a huge step for us and I think that fans will just hear that realness,” Jonah added. “It’s really universal no matter who you are.”
So how’d they settle on the album title The Good Times and The Bad Ones?
“We were thinking for days, weeks just what the album title could be,” Corbyn explained. “There were some bad ones, but we pulled the album title actually from one of the lyrics in the song ‘I’ll Be OK’ which is on the album and we felt like it summarized life in a cool way,” Corbyn added. “Life is just a bunch of good times and bad ones.”
So what were the other “sucky” options? Watch back the full interview in the Zoom above to find out what the album was almost called and to learn the unsuspecting gift the crooners want for Christmas this year.
