Kelly Clarkson is getting through her divorce from estranged husband Brandon Blackstock with some help from Garth Brooks.

During a recent episode of The Kelly Clarkson Show, the superstar spoke to Brooks about how his 1990 song, "The Dance," has had an impact on her. "I couldn’t quite nail down like the feeling. 'I was like, well, you don’t want to crap on it. You don’t want to say that didn’t count or matter, but you don’t know what to put in it ’cause it didn’t work out how you wanted," Clarkson explained to the country titan, admitting that the self-self books she’s received amid divorce haven’t had the same impact. "That’s so crazy, you don’t know that’s going to happen and you’ve known this song your entire life and you freak out when it actually is a direct impact."

Clarkson even admitted that "The Dance" inspired one of her own songs on her upcoming album. "I literally, it’s not like your song, like a rip-off, but I literally wrote this whole thing therapeutically for me, and it’s actually on my next album," she confessed. "It's the whole kind of come around…the little tag part is, 'even though my heart is broken it was worth the dance anyway.''

"That’s a great song right there. That’s the character of a great song,” Brooks told the American Idol alum after she admitted that she used to listen to "The Dance" as a child and it's had a full-circle moment on her life.

Clarkson, who was recently awarded primary custody of their two children, River Rose, and Remington, was hit with an "unreasonable" amount of spousal and child support from Blackstock. The talent manager is seeking $436,000 a month. Most recently, Clarkson filed a complaint with the California Labor Commissioner’s Office in October claiming her estranged husband, who also served as her personal manager, defrauded her out of millions of dollars in "unconscionable fees."
