Elon Musk thinks that the use of pronouns is just an "esthetic nightmare."

On Wednesday (December 16), the Tesla founder, who, know you, decided on the name X Æ A-12 for his first child with girlfriend Grimes, shared his controversial take on pronouns. "I absolutely support trans [people], but all these pronouns are an esthetic nightmare," he tweeted in response to an article that criticized a meme that he shared earlier in the week.

In that meme, viewers saw an animated solder wiping blood off of his face with the line "I love to oppress" written on his hat. "When you put he/him in ur bio," the header read, an obvious jab at the people who use pronouns in their bio, particularly the trans community to prevent being misgendered.

Musk continued to elaborate on his stance by sharing a link to an article about his LGBTQ+ activism on the official Twitter account for Tesla. "Very proud to have scored 100/100 for the fourth year in a row in LGBTQ equality," the company's social media account wrote. "Thanks to everyone at Tesla for making LGBTQ inclusion an important part of our culture."

Shortly afterward, Grimes seemingly stepped into the conversation to share a link to the LGBTQ+ Freedom Fund. "I love this charity," she wrote.

This isn’t the first time that the couple has gone head-to-head over opposing views on pronouns. "Pronouns suck," he wrote in the two-word message in July, before the alt-singer caught wind of the message. "I love you but please turn off ur phone or give me a dall [sic]," she wrote, adding, "I cannot support hate. Please stop this. I know this isn’t your heart."
