North Las Vegas Is One Of The Worst Places In America To Find A Job

For many people, finding a new job and furthering their career is a top New Year's resolution.

The job market in America took a huge hit in 2020 as a result of the ongoing coronavirus pandemic. The unemployment rate reached 14.7% at one point, but has since been steadily recovering.

So how hard it is to land a job in the Las Vegas area?

According to a study conducted by Wallethub, North Las Vegas is the fifth-hardest city to find a job in, coming in at number 178.

Las Vegas was number 162 and Henderson was number 159.

Here are the top ten cities to find a job in, according to the study:

  1. South Burlington, VT
  2. Columbia, MD
  3. Virginia Beach, VA
  4. Salt Lake City, UT
  5. Boise, ID
  6. Scottsdale, AV
  7. Chesapeake, VA
  8. Seattle, WA
  9. Colorado Springs, CO
  10. Plano, TX

Here are the top ten worst cities to find a job, with one being the worst:

  1. Hialeah, FL
  2. Shreveport, LA
  3. Detroit, MI
  4. Brownsville, TX
  5. North Las Vegas, NV
  6. Las Cruces, NM
  7. Gulfport, MS
  8. Bridgeport, CT
  9. Cleveland, OH
  10. New Haven, CT

To determine the list, Wallethub compared 182 cities, including the 150 most populated cities in the United States, across two key dimensions- job market and socio-economics. Those two dimensions were then evaluated using 32 relevant metrics such as transit score, job opportunities, job satisfaction, and annual transportation costs.
