Russell Wilson just made the new year much sweeter for his teammate.

TMZ Sports reported that the star quarterback called an audible pass for fellow Seattle Seahawk David Moore at Sunday's game (January 3). With 22 seconds left in the match, the Seahawks were poised to claim a 26-23 victory over the San Francisco 49ers.

Instead of taking a knee and running out the clock, Wilson changed course. He hit Moore with a quick touch pass, confusing broadcasters. This catch was Moore's 35th reception this season, meaning he got a large bonus.

How large? $100,000!

"It's a blessing to help his family and daughter and all stuff, so it was part of the game," Wilson said after the game. "We wanted to get him that last catch. We were able to dial that up for him on that last play."

You can watch the quick play below and hear the broadcasters' reactions.

Moore was drafted into the NFL in 2017, and according to TMZ, was set to make $825,000 this season. Now he's walking away from the first game of the year $100,000 richer.
