A Florida beach was named one of the best in the world by a well-known magazine.

Conde Nast Traveler published a list of the "25 Best Island Beaches in the World," based on a reader's choice survey last year. Among entries from Maui, Seychelles and the Cayman Islands, Marco Island found its way into the Top 10.

Located in the Paradise Coast, Marco Island is a barrier island that is connected to mainland Florida through Naples.

Writer Caitlin Morton said there's "a tropical feel thanks to the mangroves and mangoes everywhere. The Gulf Coast island is the perfect place for a weekend getaway, with beautiful beaches and parks, tons of outdoor activities, and great hotels." They also recommend staying at the luxurious JW Marriott Marco Island Beach Resort if you plan on visiting.

This isn't the first time Conde Nast Traveler featured the island in their content. Marco Island was also named one of the best U.S. Islands in 2020, as well.

Below are the Top 10 from the list:

  1. Gouverneur, St. Barts
  2. White Beach, Boracay, Philippines
  3. North Island, Seychelles
  4. Reethi Rah, North Male Atoll, Maldives
  5. Parrot Cay, Turks and Caicos
  6. Maundays Bay, Anguilla
