No Surprise: Derrick Henry Named NFL First-Team All-Pro

To no one's surprise, Tennessee Titans star running back Derrick Henry was named first-team All-Pro by the Associated Press on Friday (January 8.)

Henry received 47 of 50 votes from a panel of nationwide NFL media members, according to the Tennessee Titans' official website.

Henry was the NFL's rushing leader for the second consecutive season, setting a franchise record with 2,027 yards in 2020, becoming the eighth running back in NFL history to record more than 2,000 yards in a season. The former Heisman Trophy winner's 2020 campaign ranks fifth all-time, trailing only Eric Dickerson (2,105 in 1984), Adrian Peterson (2,097 in 2012), Jamal Lewis (2,066 in 2003) and Barry Sanders 2,053 in 1997), and is the second Titans running back to exceed 2,000 yards in a single-season, joining Chris Johnson, who record 2,006 yards in 2009.

Henry is also the first player since LaDainian Tomlinson (2006-07) to lead the NFL in rushing yards during back-to-back seasons, having recorded a league-best 1,540 yards in 2019.

Three Titans teammates -- specifically on the offensive line blocking for Henry -- also received votes for All-Pro: left guard Rodger Safford (1), center Ben Jones (2) and right guard Nate Davis (2).

The Titans will kickoff Sunday's AFC Wild Card round playoff game against the Baltimore Ravens at 12:05 p.m. CST.
