Zayn is back with a sensual new song.

On Friday (January 8), the 27-year-old crooner returned with his first song of the new year, a short and slow jam titled “Vibez.” The record arrives on the heels of Zayn announcing his forthcoming studio album, Nobody Is Listening, will drop on January 15.

On “Vibez,” the One Direction alum gets caught up in the throes of R&B while delivering dreamy melodies over a passionate, mid-tempo production. “Don't keep me waiting/ I've been waiting all night to get closer/ And you already know I got it for you/ You know the vibes, know the vibes, put it on ya/ If I’m movin' too fast, we go slower/ Baby, this far from mediocre/ You got the vibes, got the vibes.”

Zayn’s new joint, produced by Rogét Chahayed and Scribz Riley, is the latest the singer’s offered of his new LP since dropping his previous single, “Better,” another slow jam expected to appear on the project.

Both tracks seem to call to mind the smooth and suave essence of Zayn’s breakout debut project, Mind of Mine, which dominated the charts upon its release in 2016. Zayn’s latest full-length offering, Icarus Falls, dropped in 2018.

In a recent interview with Entertainment Daily, Zayn described Nobody Is Listening as “his most personal project to date.” What’s more, the musician said he took “total creative reign” on the 11-track project, noting that he’s “making the music he has always wanted to.”
