Lottery players will have a chance to win big money this week.
The Mega Millions and Powerball games are offering a combined jackpot of more than $1 billion this week.
Mega Millions' Tuesday drawing is worth up to $600 million. Powerball's Wednesday jackpot is worth up to $550 million.
Mega Millions is also offering a cash option prize of $442.4 million. Powerball is offering a cash option prize of $411.4 million.
Both jackpots will continue to increase during each game until there's a jackpot winning ticket matching all six numbers drawn.
The Mega Millions jackpot has exceeded the half billion mark five times in its existence. If a player wins on Tuesday, it would be the fourth largest jackpot in the game's history.
In October 2018, a ticket was sold in South Carolina winning $1.537 billion ($878 million cash value), which is the world's largest jackpot for a single ticket and the largest cash value for a single ticket.
The Powerball jackpot has exceeded the half a billion mark nine times during its existence. If a player wins on Wednesday, it would be the ninth largest jackpot in the game's history.
Three tickets in California, Florida and Tennessee won the $1.586 billion Powerball jackpot in January 2016, which set the record for the world's largest jackpot (cash value and annuity) and was the ninth largest cash value per ticket.
