COVID-19 outbreaks have occurred at two Colorado In-N-Out locations over the last seven weeks, as reported by CPR News. The outbreaks may have started on the same day the restaurants opened on November 20.

A third of the staff at the Aurora and Colorado Springs In-N-Out locations have contracted COVID-19. Between the two locations, there have been 168 confirmed cases of COVID.

According to reports filed by local health agencies, the fast-food company employs 411 people at the restaurants.

According to CPR, no one has died from the outbreaks and previously infected employees have already recovered. Still, the number of confirmed cases has been climbing steadily. Last week, the cumulative number of positive COVID-19 cases at the restaurants increased by about 20.

"While we feel positive about the improvement, we are concerned when any member of our Associate family is affected," said the vice president of operations Denny Warnick in a written statement. "We continue to keep them in our prayers and we'll also continue to take action to keep our teams as safe as possible."

Symptoms began appearing at the Colorado Springs location on opening day and the outbreak was confirmed two weeks later. The Aurora location's outbreak started soon after.

Workers came from out of state to meet the demand when the restaurants first launched. The company stopped importing staff after sales began to slow down.

There have been no confirmed cases of customers infected at the two locations. Both only offer drive-thru and takeout services.
