The Poteet Strawberry Festival is expected to happen in April 2021 after it was canceled in 2020.
Organizers posted on social media this week that they're back and the festival will be April 9-11. More information about tickets and shows will be released at a later date.
Very few details about the upcoming festival were released. Organizers did not say if the festival will do anything differently due to the pandemic.
Reaction to the festival returning was mixed on Facebook. While some people were thrilled at the idea of going out with friends and family, others wrote that it was a bad idea with the ongoing pandemic.
"If Rodeo was canceled I m sure this will too.... our hospital are at full capacity and they are thinking Poteet Festival.... With our pandemic on a huge rise I don’t see this happening," wrote David Alaniz.
Most major events and festivals have either been canceled, delayed, or changed to comply with COVID-19 restrictions. The San Antonio Stock Show & Rodeo will go on next month but without the carnival. Meanwhile, the Fiesta San Antonio Commission hasn't announced if Fiesta will be held in April.
