Need Some Vitamin D? These AZ Cities Are Among The Sunniest In The U.S.

Let's face it, life has been pretty hard over the last year and it has left many feeling down in the dumps.

If you're looking to get a little extra Vitamin D to perk you up, you're in luck! You won't have to travel too far to find the sun in Arizona.

NerdWallet released a study of the sunniest cities in America, and Arizona took four of the top 10 spots.

Yuma was number one on the list with a 90% annual average possible sunshine.

Phoenix took the fourth spot with an 85% average. Tucson was fifth and also had an 85% average.

Taking the ninth place spot was Flagstaff with a 78% average.

According to the list, here are the top 20 sunniest cities in America:

  2. Redding, CA
  3. Las Vegas, NV
  4. Phoenix, AZ
  5. Tucson, AZ
  6. El Paso, TX
  7. Fresno, CA
  8. Reno, NV
  9. Flagstaff, AZ
  10. Sacramento, CA
  11. Albuquerque, NM
  12. Key West, FL
  13. Pueblo, CO
  14. Midland-Odessa, TX
  15. Roswell, NM
  16. Amarillo, TX
  17. Ely, NV
  18. Los Angeles C.O., CA
  19. Lake Charles, LA
  20. Lubbock, TX

To determine the list, NerdWallet took data from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration to determine which cities are the sunniest, and ranked them by the annual percentage of average possible sunshine.
