A man was reportedly stabbed multiple times while ordering breakfast at a drive-thru in a Northeast Portland, Oregon neighborhood, KOIN reported.

Early Thursday morning (February 4), police responded to a call about a stabbing in the parking lot of a restaurant in the 8000 block of NE Martin Luther King Junior Boulevard. When officers arrived on the scene, they said found a man who suffered serious injuries. The victim was rushed to the hospital, officials added.

According to investigators, the victim was placing an order at the restaurant's drive-thru until the suspect approached him. That's when the suspect started stabbing the victim without warning, officials said. Reporters said the suspect walked away after the attack, but officers found him nearby.

Aaron J. Knight, 45, was taken into custody on charges of second-degree attempted murder and second-degree assault. Police said he had a "user amount" of methamphetamine on in his possession, too.
