The New York Times Presents’ latest docuseries installment, Framing Britney Spears, shines light on how we (as a culture) failed the pop superstar. In the new film, the entertainer's life, as well as her accompanying 13-year-conservatorship, which sees her father control every aspect of her every day life, career and finances, are dissected through a number of commentators, including personal affiliates, professional collaborators and journalists from the publication.
As the #FreeBritney movement continues to reach new audiences, celebrities from all around have finally decided to back the movement after watching the new FX/Hulu documentary, including the likes of Khloé Kardashian, Hayley Williams of Paramore, Sarah Jessica Parker, Kacey Musgraves and more.

no artist today would have to endure the literal torture that media/society/utter misogynists inflicted upon her.
the mental health awareness conversation, culturally, could never be where it is without the awful price she has paid.

Just watched the “Framing Britney Spears” documentary and have to say, there is something VERY weird, very wrong going on. #FreeBritney 💔

#FramingBritneySpears stung. A) men controlling finances 10yr+ of a grown woman who earned her own money. Are moms put in charge of adult pop star sons who show erratic behavior?- no B) ‘90s solidarity: appalling slut shaming when what was happening was taking back the narrative

Love Lucy Hale for this! 💜

Don’t forget that Britney survived her trauma then, but she needs our help NOW. She’s STILL in a conservatorship that strips her basic human rights! #FreeBritney #FramingBritneySpears pic.twitter.com/lnhb1h5uaM
