There are many perks to city life. But because those larger cities bring along greater populations, drawbacks such as pollution, litter, pests, and lower air quality are usually pretty prominent.
Some cities are much dirtier than others.
LawnStarter compared the 200 largest cities in the nation across 20 key metrics including air and water quality, waste regulations, and the share of homes with signs of mice or rats to determine which were the dirtiest.
Several Arizona cities found themselves near the top of the list.
Mesa came in at number 13 on the list, followed very closely by Phoenix at number 14.
Other Arizona cities scored in the top 50. Tempe came in at number 32, Scottsdale was number 36, Peoria was number 37, and Chandler came in at number 47.
