A tiger cub was reportedly on the loose on Friday, February 5, in a residential neighborhood in southwest San Antonio.
A neighbor called the police after spotting a young tiger walking around in the 8600 block of Elk Runner Street near Pearsall Park, according the San Antonio Police Department.
The tiger was already gone when officers and animal control arrived at the location. Animal control services was, however, able to track down the person who allegedly had the cub. The man didn't have the tiger with him but told officers that he borrowed the animal to show family.
Somehow the tiger got away and jumped over a neighbor's backyard fence.

The man who borrowed the tiger told police he caught the cub and returned it to its owner. He also told authorities that the big cat's real owner has other tigers.
Animal control officers are now investigating the tiger's owner because it's illegal to keep wild animals at home in San Antonio.
