Zayn Malik Talks Real-Life Dreams After Letting Fans Watch Him Sleep
February 8, 2021
Zayn Malik is quite the dreamer!
Over the weekend, the "Better" singer participated in Coors' Big Game Dream experience, allowing fans to watch him sleep as he dreamed, thanks to a dream stimulus video created by Dr. Deirdre Barrett, a leading psychologist from Harvard University.
For the experiment, Coors worked with Dr. Barrett to develop a stimulus film that, when paired with a curated eight-hour "soundscape," induces relaxing, refreshing images including waterfalls, mountains, and of course, Coors.
Zayn was more than up for the implantation of a beer commercial in his resting mind as he said in a statement ahead of his Big Game Dream experience, saying, “When Coors asked me if they could induce a refreshing dream while I sleep for you all to watch on Instagram Live, I thought...well that IS very strange. So of course, I said yes."
"It’s been a minute since I’ve had a good night's sleep, so let’s see if it works. I love a good science project," he shared.
Thousands of fans tuned in to watch Zayn on Instagram Live on Saturday (February 6) as he watched the dream stimulus in real-time and ultimately fell asleep and dreamed. To say the simulation worked would be an understatement as the new father, who welcomed his daughter Khai with supermodel Gigi Hadid in September, not only got some much-needed rest but also had quite the "cool dream."
After waking up around 3 a.m., Zayn shared his dream on Instagram Live. "I seen like this huge robot," he began. "It was like a metal robot, but he was made of Coors cans and he was walking over the hills. And there were some streams there. There were some rivers."
Zayn admitted that while he "didn't think it was going to work" and "was quite skeptical" ahead of the experiment, the Big Game Dream experience "actually it works."
Interestingly enough, the sleeping dream Zayn had was similar to the unfulfilled dream he shared with iHeartRadio following the experiment. When asked what's the biggest dream/goal he's yet to accomplish, Zayn hilariously admitted that he wants to "make an actual iron man mechanical suit that flies."
"Not sure if it’s that achievable, but hey a kid can dream," he noted.
