This Award-Winning Spot Is California's Most Romantic Restaurant

As Valentine's Day quickly approaches, many are likely out there scrambling for last-minute gift ideas, flowers, chocolates, and dinner reservations.

If you're struggling with that last one, a website has compiled a list of the most romantic restaurants in every state.

Eat This, Not That! looked through reviews, talked to locals from each state, and went off of their own experiences to put together a solid list of the spots for the perfect Valentine's Day dinner date.

For California, the website decided that Gary Danko in San Francisco is the most romantic place for a dinner date.

"This Michelin-starred San Fran spot is one of the many romantic restaurants in California, but Gary Danko's intimately lit space makes it extra special," they write. "The award-winning spot is currently offering much of its menu for takeaway, and you won't want to miss the lemon pepper duck breast."

Located in the iconic Fisherman's Wharf neighborhood, the restaurant offers a combination of classic French cooking and inventive use of local ingredients.

Although the restaurant is closed for indoor dining due to the COVID-19 pandemic, you can still order the delicious food and bring it home with you for a romantic night in.
