A series of brawls broke out on Valentine's Day in Old Sacramento, according to police.

Officer Karl Chan with the Sacramento Police Department said a fight involving over 50 minors started at about 6:00 P.M. on Sunday, February 14.

Police began getting reports about the fight around 7:30 P.M.

Officers responded to three fights within five hours. One fight involved up to 60 minors reports CBS13.

The fight prompted road closures while police separated the crowd. There were no injuries, according to ABC10.

Although CBS13 reports one person was seen being escorted away in handcuffs, police said on Monday, February 15, no arrests were made from the fights.

Police explained that some people were detained but were released after.

Later that night Chan said officers heard a gunshot in the area at about 10:00 P.M. They detained an 18-year-old man found at the scene and were able to recover a firearm from the man.

The suspect was later arrested on charges related to the firearm, according to Chan.

There are currently no reports on what prompted the fights and police are unclear if the later firearm incident was in any way related to the fights earlier in the day.
