Teller County will soon be relaxing their COVID-19 restrictions, according to FOX31.

The county will be moving from Level Yellow to Level Blue on Colorado's COVID-19 dial.

Level Blue is just one level away from the least restrictive Level Green.

The county announced the move to Blue on Wednesday, February 17. The new restrictions went into effect at 9:00 A.M. on Thursday, February 18.

"Teller County residents should be applauded for their efforts to reduce the spread of the virus," said County Commissioner Chairman Bob Campbell. "Kudos to Teller County Public Health volunteers, staff, and our local vaccination partners; we have vaccinated nearly 50% of our over-70 population with the first dose."

For a county to enter Level Blue they must have between 15 and 100 COVID-19 cases per 100,000 people in one week, according to the state.

Teller County's COVID-19 one-week cumulative incidence rate is 59 per 100,000 people and they have a positivity rate of 3.7%, reports FOX31.

Under Level Blue, some of the loosened restrictions include:

  • Restaurants operating indoors at 50% of posted occupancy
  • Indoor and outdoor events applying for local site variances to Teller County Board of Health
  • Gyms operating at 50% occupancy
  • Casinos operating at 50% of posted occupancy limit but cannot exceed 175-225 people per room
  • Last Call for alcohol services moves to 12:00 A.M.
