Prescott, McConaughey, Beyonce & Other Famous Texans Help State After Storm

Famous names with Texas ties are stepping up to help after winter storms left millions in the state without power and running water.
Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott and actor Matthew McConaughey donated 1,000 meals to people staying at the Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center in Dallas. The center was converted into a warming shelter used to house homeless people as temperatures dipped below freezing this week.
Opening an emergency weather shelter for nearly 1,000 homeless individuals in Dallas at the Convention Center has been our most difficult task. But we are thankful and encouraged that @McConaughey and @dak are sending support to purchase meals for the individuals and families.

Beyonce and her organization BeyGOOD teamed up with Houston nonprofit Bread of Life to provide financial assistance to people in Texas. Bread of Life stopped accepting applications on Friday after receiving an overwhelming number of request for help.
The grassroots organization Mutual Aid Houston shouted out Solange Knowles on Twitter for donating.

Rapper Trae Tha Truth has been giving food, water, and other supplies to people all over Houston with his nonprofit Relief Gang.
Tiffany Moon of Real Housewives of Dallas fame is using her social networks to find housing for women and children who were forced out of a local shelter because of a burst pipe.
Actresses Kerry Washington and Reese Witherspoon are encouraging their fans to donate to Texas food banks and mutual aid organizations.
