Employees at Guard and Grace were left with a $6,800 cash tip on Saturday, February 20. The money was distributed evenly across the restaurant's 34 employees.

The patron who left the huge tip signed the receipt "COVID bandit" and wrote, "COVID sucks."

This isn't the first time the COVID Bandit has struck in Denver. The receipt left at Guard and Grace is similar to a receipt that was left at a cafe in Estes Park last month. The person left a generous tip there too.

One staff member working on Saturday, Ben Moon, told KDVR he noticed the diner talking to the general manager. He then went to the bar in of their private dining rooms to line up the staff and personally hand them each $200 in cash.

The identity of the man is still a mystery though.

"His reservation was literally under the name COVID Bandit," said Moon.

Chef Tony Guard, who was also working that day, took to Facebook to post a photo of the receipt and express his gratitude.

"Whoever this person is ..., thank you so much for your act of kindness and your sincere genuine caring thoughtfulness you just bestowed on our Guard and Grace staff..."
