A bald eagle spotted in the Hays neighborhood of Pittsburgh was involved in an odd incident with another bird caught on camera on Monday (February 22) night.

At around 9:30 p.m., the eagle was knocked off of his roost by a great horned owl and fell to the ground below, as shown in a video shared by the 'PixCams' YouTube account, which monitors the local bald eagles in their habitat 24/7.

"A great horned owl knocks the male bald eagle off of his roost near the Hays nest in Pittsburgh," the video caption stated. "The male seems to be fine after the attack. The impact of the attack happened at 21:25:58 on 2/22/2021"

Fortunately, the bald eagle seemed fine after the incident took place. However, this isn't the first incident involving an attack on the Hays bald eagles.

Last week, both the male and female bald eagles were captured on camera protecting their nest from an intruding raccoon. Three eggs were laid recently and are expected to hatch within the net month.
