One of the most important life skills, unfortunately, isn't taught in schools. But money management can determine how the rest of your life will look.

Yet surveys show that only 55% of adults are confident when it comes to personal finance. Only two in five say they stick to a budget and keep track of their spending.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, having a handle on your finances is more important than ever in these uncertain times.

To help encourage people to get serious about their money, WalletHub determined the best and worst cities at money management in 2021.

They compared over 2,500 cities on 10 key indicators of management in order to determine where the people with the best money management skills are living.

And according to WalletHub's findings, many of them don't reside in Denver.

The city was ranked No. 1,166 on their list and a few other Colorado cities like Loveland and Castle Rock ranked even further down the list.

WalletHub found that many of the top cities with the best money management are in the state of California, with the city of Cupertino making it to the top of their list.

To come to these conclusions, WalletHub assessed each city in terms of their debt level and financial behavior.
