February's winter storm may be Texas' most expensive disaster to date.

The state and local governments have spent about $90 million in the week since the storm swept the state, but it'll cost the state billions to recover.

The damage from Hurricane Harvey totaled $125 billion, but experts told the Texas Tribune that the damage from the winter weather will exceed that. One of the reasons why is because of how many people the freezing temperatures effected.

“All 254 counties will have been impacted in some way by the freeze. That is just unheard of," Lee Loftis, director of government affairs for the Independent Insurance Agents of Texas, told the Tribune.

Loftis said it's still too early to know the total cost of destruction but the economic research firm the Perryman Group said to could be between $195 billion on the low end and as much as $295 billion.

"In a worst-case scenario, it could be a little worse than Harvey. Best-case scenario, it's almost as bad as Ike," Ray Perryman, president and CEO of the Perryman Group, told CBS.
