Dolly Parton finally got a "dose of her own medicine." The country icon got her first shot of the COVID-19 vaccine in Nashville, and is encouraging others to go out and get theirs too in a new video posted to her social media.

In the video, appropriately captioned, "Dolly gets a dose of her own medicine," the star tagged Vanderbilt University Medical Center, who she donated $1 million to for research on the coronavirus back in April.

Before she received the shot, Parton explained, "I'm finally gonna get my vaccine. I'm so excited, I've been waiting a while. I’m old enough to get it, and I’m smart enough to get it. So, I’m very happy I’m going to get my Moderna shot today. And I wanted to tell everybody that you should get out there and do it too."

She continued by saying that she changed the lyrics to her hit "Jolene" to "fit the occasion." She sang, "Vaccine, vaccine, vaccine, vaccine. I’m beggin’ of you, please don’t hesitate. Vaccine, vaccine, vaccine, vaccine. ‘Cause once you dead, that’s a bit too late."

Dolly added before finally receiving her vaccine, "I know, I’m trying to be funny now, but I’m dead serious about the vaccine. I think we all wanna get back to normal, whatever that is, and that would be a great shot in the arm, wouldn’t it? If we could get back to that. I just wanted to encourage everybody, because the sooner we get to feeling better, the sooner we are gonna get back to being normal. So, I just wanted to say to all of you cowards out there, don’t be such a chicken squat. Get out there are get your shot."
