If you ask 6ix9ine, he's no snitch.

During a recent episode of TMZ Live, the 24-year-old rapper, who infamously acted as a government witness, testifying against his former gang and identifying his former associate as his kidnapper, explained why he believes he is not a rat.

"I got kidnapped by my own people," he shared, adding that he was beefing with many people before his arrest, but it was those closest to him that turned on him. "What I did wasn't snitching. What I did was being smart." He continued, "[I] realized God put me there to cut my grass so I could see the snakes in my grass."

Last October, AnthonyHarvEllison, the Nine Trey Gangsta Bloods member who kidnapped 6ix9ine in July 2018, was sentenced to 24 years in prison after a jury found him guilty of kidnapping in aid of racketeering. He was also found guilty of racketeering conspiracy and maiming and assault with a dangerous weapon in aid of racketeering.

When 6ix9ine took the stand in a Manhattan federal court in September 2019, he not only named names, he also revealed his role in the gang, and testified against Harv in regard to his connection to various gang activities, including his alleged kidnapping and robbery, which was at the center of the case.
